In 1933 on April 7th, the 18th amendment, commonly known as Prohibition, was repealed. People lined up around the block at the doors of their favorite bars and pubs as they prepared to imbibe the legal brews for the first time in 13 years. The legend goes that President Roosevelt quipped: “I think this would be a good time for a beer.” And who are we to argue with a president?
